Objectives

1.    Estimating groundwater abstraction across the UAE using advanced space technologies, modeling, and field observations.
2.    Identifying the main hotspots for groundwater abstraction in the different emirates.

Outcomes

1.  Provide a state-of-the-art modeling tool for high-resolution groundwater abstraction estimations.
2.  Seasonal estimation of groundwater abstraction in the country with very high confidence.
3.  The results do not significantly different from the USGS estimations using farm-level electricity bill data in Al-Ain and to EAD piezometers data.
4.  We provide here an economical option for assessing groundwater abstraction using remote sensing, ground sensory systems, and modeling techniques.
