Acquatec Solutions participated in several projects. Our work includes technical development as well as participatory research and engagement to address effectively gaps and to ensure sustainable adoption through ownership for future self-reliance.

Our key staff projects experience

  1.    Mercy Corps Water Innovation Technologies - USAID-Jordan (id:rc, 2021): National food security, water valuation, alternative water resources and farming systems, overirrigation assessment, and end-line surveys.
  2.    Assessing climate change (downscaled high-resolution) impacts on water and agricultural resources in MENA: Bouregreg watershed in Morocco, Amman-Zarqa basin in Jordan, and durum wheat production under 1.5- and 2-degrees scenarios, HAPPI).
  3.    Evaluation of current drought risk insurance possibilities (SWOT Analyses) that may be used in the NENA region to increase climate resilience, and advising on risks for both indemnity and index schemes and technical options for space-time near-continuous impact quantification to support the insurance compensation claims in various existing schemes (Understanding the possibilities and challenges of using drought risk insurance to increase climate resilience in Near East North Africa (NENA) region, FAO, 2018).
  4.    Extensive analysis of global and local climate data sets to exploring possible teleconnections between large atmospheric dynamics in the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Mediterranean and drought occurrence, and assessment of the consequences of past droughts on cropping systems and (non-) conventional water resources at the regional and country levels, and identification of mitigation actions under current and future in the region (in Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon; World Bank 2016-2017).
  5.    Mapping agricultural communities most vulnerable to the impact of climate change: Typology of major farming systems and the development of customized indicators, determination of the socio-economic impacts, demonstration of alternative climate-smart, sustainable, and productive resilient systems for the poor rural populations, and enhancing policymakers and local NGOs awareness in Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon, Mauritania, and Senegal; Creating Opportunities to Develop Resilient Agriculture – CODRA, IFAD: 2014 – 2016).
  6.    Kuwait investment strategy in food security: Coordination (Kuwait Investment Authority 2014).
